Barajagala Tribal Belly Dance
This is not your mother's belly dance!
This is American Tribal Style (ATS) belly dance as created by FatChanceBellyDance director,Carolena Nericcio. (For more info on FatChanceBellyDance, click on www.fcbd.com).
Created in the 80's in San Francisco, by Carolena Nericcio - this American dance is a unique dance form which combines classic Egyptian bellydance and folkloric steps with a good dose of Flamenco stylizations. It is "tribal" in that it is a collaborative and improvisational dance between a group of dancers . It fosters feelings of liberation and unity, of sensuality and power. The flamenco aspect of this dance infuses the dancers with a feeling of power and elegance, the bellydance moves celebrate the artistic sensuality of women, and the tribal nature of ATS bellydance encourages a sense of community. Even from the first class, women experience a sense of beauty and strength within themselves from participating in this unique dance form.
What does this "Stamp of Approval" mean?
It indicates that
Barajagala's director is a FatChancBellydance certified ATS (American Tribal Style) instructor, and the studio has been designated by Carolena Nericcio, director of FCBD (FatChanceBellyDance) as a sister studio. This means when you come to take classes, you will be learning pure ATS with curriculum as taught by FCBD. Only FCBD sister studios are granted this "Stamp of Approval" by Carolena Nericcio.

Time: 1:00 - 3:30 pm
Workshop Fee: $35 (cash pls)
PLS NOTE YOU MUST REGISTER FOR WORKSHOP BY EMAILING (irene@btribalbellydance.com) and you will receive confirmation of the workshop and specifics of what to wear/bring to the workshop.
The workshop will cover the American Tribal Style (ATS) Level 1 curriculum(except for zilling) as taught by FatChanceBellydance. Irene is a certified FatChanceBellydance ATS teacher. Time permitting, an intro into the dynamics of group dancing will be given.
